ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Ronald Kumbuka, Arua, Uganda
Ronald Kumbuka is a missionary visual artist with R’kumbuka Art. Ronald’s gifts are in the creative arts, leadership, counseling, and evangelism. He disciples children at St. Phillips Church in Arua, Uganda. In addition, Ronald brings hope and healing to 13-18 year-old incarcerated and addicted Ugandan youths. Recently, at an outreach, over 40 young people committed their lives to Christ.

"I am honored and privileged to understand how to Embrace my identity in Christ as an artist (Ephesians 2:8-10) and reflect on the voices that have impacted my life journey positively and negatively and the realization of how that impacts my art daily.
I learned that I’d done nothing deserving of my salvation but only by God’s grace through faith that he saved me so that I now can be a blessing and do His good works in and through me, the vessel. I loved the analogy of how a useless piece of wood from the jungle can be redefined by the sculpting carpenter who fashions it through sweat and cuttings to create a masterpiece – furniture, guitar, or violin with musical sounds that light up and heal hearts(Jeremiah 18:4-6: “I am the Potter & you are the clay."
