Artist Spotlight: Alison Hildebrandt
As a tiny child, Alison fell in love with drawing before she knew how to write or spell. From an early age, she had an affinity for narrative and used it to create characters and stories as she drew.

Ever since Alison could remember, Alison’s work has been ethereal and dream-like. When Alison creates, she tells visual stories about this world and another beyond it. There is always a sense of poetic realism in her work that speaks to the invisible realm behind what we see with our eyes.
Alison graduated from Northern Kentucky University, where she studied Painting, Printmaking, and Philosophy. Her attraction to the chiaroscuro method, which Caravaggio was known for, led her to study intaglio Printmaking at Miami University. In addition, Alison studied Printmaking abroad at the Joan Miro Foundation in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Always hungry to learn, she continues to study painting and drawing, engaging in workshops and classes with artists such as Shane Wolf, Richard Luschek, Marlene Steele, Patrick Devonas, and Dorian Iten. Her most recent learning experience was studying classical atelier drawing at the Barcelona Academy of Art in Spain. In addition, Hildebrandt taught various college-level art courses at Miami University, Mount Saint Joseph University, and Thomas More College and worked with teens to create public art projects with ArtWorks Cincinnati.

Arise and Shine
"For anyone looking to grow spiritually, Dr. Bill Barnett’s community groups for creatives are a must. My husband, Evan, and I are both visual artists and art instructors. Dr. Bill has been such a blessing to us. He has shared so much wisdom with us, and the revelations he’s received have truly ministered to our hearts. Dr. Bill’s teaching helps artists address the root issues that can hold us back creatively, emotionally, and spiritually."
Alison shares,
"Thank you, Dr. Bill, for pastoring us, artists. I can feel Father God’s smile over your Kingdom investments. You honor His majesty in all the ways you are helping artists, and you carry the Good Shepherd’s heart for creative sheep. If you are looking to walk in the fullness of your calling in the Kingdom of God, then I would highly recommend joining his Storytellers Creative Arts Makers Community groups!"
Alison’s art has been widely displayed and collected throughout Greater Cincinnati and the United States. She worked on a permanent display at the Museum of Spiritual Art in Franklin, Ohio. In addition, her printmaking is part of the works on paper collections at the New Orleans Museum of Art, the University of Dallas, and the Cincinnati Art Museum.
She currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband, artist Evan Hildebrandt. See Alison's art here.
Experience Makers Community Groups!
Community is collaboration, creating, and doing life together. It’s where the most incredible stories unfold, creating space for learning together, meaningful relationships, accountability, and spiritual growth.
As artists, shapers of the culture, we make art from a heart of worship and dependency on the Master Artist who inspires our creativity and skill. We are excited to walk with you, fellowship with you,and to walk into our creative callings, together. All creative types are welcome.
Groups are designed to enhance the artist’s experience through relevant resources, activities, and conversations that engage in to know the One who invited us to join us on the journey, grow in our relationship with Him, and show the world hope and love of Christ through what we create.
Makers Community Groups are located in creative spaces like art galleries, theaters, studios, virtually on Zoom, and other places to foster an atmosphere of engagement, conversation, and artmaking. Groups meet bi-weekly in Southwest Florida and virtually.
